Bilibili goes international: what changed, and when
Bilibili spent August 2026 relaunching its international app and talking publicly about an English-language future. Coverage is scattered and official summaries change without notice — so this page keeps one dated record. Every entry separates what the press reported from what we checked ourselves, prints what we did not verify, and links out to sources. For the current state of each surface (not the timeline), see the status notes.
- Reported in press
Global expansion and an English-language site enter Bilibili's plans
Semafor (via Yahoo Tech) reported that Bilibili is planning a global push aimed at international audiences, including an English-language site for creator uploads, with hiring reported in cities including Los Angeles, London, Mexico City, São Paulo, Istanbul and Tokyo.
Not verified: Any live product. An announcement is not a shipped feature — we track this item until something is publicly usable.

International app relaunched; overseas sign-up no longer demands ID verification
Engadget reported that Bilibili's international Android app has relaunched: overseas users can now register without submitting passport or other identity documents, and the app is expected to mix global and Chinese content. Tubefilter covered the same announcements the same day.
Not verified: What each region, device or account actually receives. App behavior can differ by store, region and account — treat every feature as per-account until you see it yourself.
- We observed this
Our own verification pass: app language claims, AI dubbing, main site, bilibili.tv
We checked the surfaces ourselves. The public Google Play listing for the international app promotes expanded language support for international viewers and AI dubbing on some content; the main bilibili.com interface remains Chinese-first with no site-wide English interface; and bilibili.tv remains a separate licensed-catalog service for Southeast Asian markets — not a mirror of the creator catalog.
Not verified: Per-video and per-region availability of any language feature. Nothing on BiliGuide should be read as a promise of translated menus, subtitles or dubbing on any specific video.

The English-language creator site
Reported by press on Aug 19–20, 2026, described as English-language upload options for international creators. As of our last check it was an announcement, not a shipped product. When it goes live, this changelog gets a dated entry — not a rumor update.

Which regions get which app features
Language support and AI dubbing are promoted on the international app listing, but per-region rollout is not published in a form we can verify. We re-observe the listing and the apps on our 30-day cadence.
