How Bilibili Charging Works: An International Viewer’s Guide
What 充电 means, what can vary, and how to decide without pressure.
Last checked against official service terms: Aug 26, 2026
Short answer: Bilibili Charging (充电, chōngdiàn) is an optional creator-support feature for particular creators. It is not required to watch Bilibili, join a community, leave a comment, or be a “real” fan.
You may hear a creator mention 充电, see a support panel on an official creator page, or find an English post calling it “Bilibili Power” or “sponsorship.” The practical idea is simple: Charging is a way to give optional, platform-provided support to a specific creator. The exact form, price, benefits, payment route, and availability can differ by creator, account, device, region, and the current official interface.
This guide explains the culture and the decisions worth making before you take any action. It does not provide third-party top-up advice, country workarounds, account-verification workarounds, or payment instructions.

First: Charging is optional, not a viewing fee
The easiest way to feel comfortable on Bilibili is to separate watching from supporting. You can watch a creator, enjoy one video, and leave without paying. You can also like a video, save it for later, or follow the creator if you want more. Those are all valid forms of participation.
Charging exists for viewers who already want to give optional support to a particular creator. Bilibili’s Charging Service Agreement describes it as a value-added service intended to support creators, and says that charging a specific creator expresses a viewer’s appreciation and support. [1]
No-pressure rule: If the current official screen does not make the amount, time period, and access clear, do not continue. You can still support the creator for free by watching, liking, saving, or following.
The four terms that are easiest to confuse
Bilibili has several “support” words. They do not mean the same thing.
| Term | What it means in plain English | Is it paid? | What a newcomer should remember |
|---|---|---|---|
| Like (点赞) | A quick sign that you enjoyed a video. | No | A simple, valid way to show appreciation. |
| Coin (投币) | A platform-specific recognition signal often mentioned with Like and Favorite. | Not the same thing as Charging | It is part of the “one-click triple” culture, not a general instruction to buy something. |
| B Coin (B币) | A digital platform good governed by Bilibili’s B Coin agreement and used for virtual products and value-added services. [2] | Can be involved in paid platform services | Do not treat it as cash, a transferable gift card, or a reason to use an unofficial seller. |
| Charging (充电) | A separate, optional creator-support service. | May involve paid support | Read the current official terms and the exact panel before making any choice. |
If you only remember one distinction, make it this: a Coin in “one-click triple” is not the same thing as Charging.
What Charging can look like
Bilibili’s current Charging Service Agreement describes several forms. The platform can add or adjust forms, so the official panel you see is more important than any old screenshot or tutorial. [1]
| Form described by Bilibili | Plain-English explanation | What can vary |
|---|---|---|
| Custom Charging (自定义充电) | A one-time creator-support option, where it is offered. | The available panel, current amount display, creator eligibility, and account access. |
| Monthly Charging (包月充电) | A fixed-tier, recurring or non-recurring monthly-style creator-support option, where it is offered. | The tier, benefits, renewal setting, creator’s current offer, and platform display. |
| Single-video Charging (单片充电) | A creator may make an individual video available through a per-video charging option. | The video, price display, viewing period, and possible time or regional-rights restrictions. |
A creator may choose to offer monthly benefits such as exclusive videos, posts, draws, or polls, but Bilibili’s agreement says the creator decides whether to offer benefits and can change them. [1] Treat benefits as current creator-page information, not a permanent promise.
A safe, official-only way to decide whether to support
This is a decision checklist, not a payment walkthrough. It is deliberately short because button labels, supported channels, and eligibility may change.
1. Start with the creator, not a seller
Open the creator’s official Bilibili space or a self-made video page. On BiliGuide, every creator card sends you to an official space. Do not start from a message, a comment, a reposted QR code, or an unfamiliar “top-up” site.
2. Decide what you actually want
Ask one question: am I trying to say thanks once, return every month, or unlock a specific piece of creator content?
| Your reason | The least complicated first response |
|---|---|
| “I liked this one video.” | Like it, save it, or simply keep watching. Charging is optional. |
| “I want to support this creator once.” | Read the current official creator support panel and decide only if the amount and terms are clear. |
| “I want an ongoing creator relationship.” | Check whether the current official panel describes a monthly option, its time period, renewal wording, and current benefits. |
| “I want this one creator-only video.” | Read the official access, time-limit, and availability notice before deciding. |
3. Read the exact current offer before you confirm anything
Before you choose any optional paid support, read the creator name, displayed amount, time period, benefits (if any), and the current service wording. Bilibili’s agreement says that monthly tiers and benefits are set by the creator and shown on the relevant platform pages. [1]
A clear offer answers three questions: What am I supporting? How long does it last? What, if anything, is included?
If any of those questions remains unclear, stop there. You do not lose your place in the community by choosing not to pay.
4. Check whether the option renews
Some monthly or annual options can involve automatic renewal if you actively select a continuous plan. The official agreement describes recurring Charging separately and says the exact deduction timing and cancellation handling can depend on the payment channel and current platform rules. [1]
Before continuing with any recurring option, use the current official confirmation screen to check:
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| The stated billing period | Monthly-style and annual-style options are not the same commitment. |
| Whether renewal is on or off | Continuous plans can renew unless cancelled under the applicable current terms. |
| The displayed current price | Creator tiers and platform terms can change. |
| Where the official interface says renewal can be managed or cancelled | Interface paths can change across platforms and versions. |
This guide intentionally does not list fixed button paths. Use the current official account, app-store, or payment-channel instructions shown to your account, rather than relying on an old tutorial.
5. Use only an official route available to your account
Bilibili’s agreements state that non-designated routes are not covered by the platform, and the B Coin agreement says platform services and payment conditions can differ by software version, device, operating system, and third-party channel. [1] [2]
That means an overseas viewer may see a different option, no option, a different display, or an availability notice. Do not try to force an unavailable feature. Do not use third-party resellers, borrowed accounts, workarounds, or instructions that bypass account, payment, regional, or copyright checks.
When content or support is not available to you
A support panel may not appear for every creator. A particular charged video may also be unavailable at a certain time or in a certain place because content rights can impose time and regional limits. Bilibili’s Charging Service Agreement explicitly notes that some charged content may have access restrictions related to region or time. [1]
If that happens, the responsible next step is to read the notice on the official page, then choose an available alternative. BiliGuide does not offer methods to bypass those restrictions.
A missing option is information, not a problem to solve around. You can still watch other available work, follow the creator, and return if official availability changes.
What “support” can mean without payment
Creator culture is richer when viewers do not confuse care with spending. If you cannot, do not want to, or are not able to use Charging, you still have meaningful options.
| Free action | When it is useful | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Watch attentively | You are deciding whether a creator fits your interests. | The most honest first form of support is becoming part of the audience. |
| Like | A video made you laugh, learn, or feel something. | A quick, low-pressure signal of appreciation. |
| Favorite | You will want a recipe, tutorial, or explainer again. | It helps you return to a useful video. |
| Follow | You want to see future work. | It creates an ongoing connection without a payment commitment. |
| Leave a thoughtful comment | You understand the language and have something respectful to add. | A specific response can be more meaningful than a generic slogan. |

30-SECOND DECISION GUIDE
Choose the right next step — without entering any payment details
These are learning scenarios. Nothing here opens or changes a Bilibili payment setting.
Protect your account, privacy, and boundaries
A well-designed culture guide should make it easier to pause. Keep these boundaries in mind whenever money, access, or a recurring service appears.
| Good boundary | What it looks like in practice |
|---|---|
| Use the current official screen. | Do not rely on screenshots, old videos, stranger DMs, or resale instructions. |
| Keep personal information private. | Do not post account credentials, ID documents, bank details, payment codes, or one-time verification codes in comments or messages. |
| Do not borrow or lend accounts for support features. | Only use an account and payment route you are legally authorized to use. |
| Read recurring language slowly. | If you choose a continuous plan, check the current period, renewal state, and management information before confirming. |
| Treat creator benefits as current, not guaranteed. | Benefits, access windows, tiers, and availability may differ by creator and can change. |
| If you are under 18, involve a guardian. | Bilibili’s agreements state that minors should read the applicable terms with a legal guardian and may face age or spending limits. [1] [2] |
BiliGuide’s editorial boundary
BiliGuide helps international viewers understand Bilibili’s creator culture and find official creator spaces. It does not sell B Coins, collect payment information, recommend third-party top-up services, or tell users how to bypass access, regional, copyright, account, or verification restrictions.
Feature availability, prices, payment channels, terms, and account rules can change. If you decide to consider optional creator support, rely on the current official Bilibili interface and service terms shown to your account.
Start with the creator, not the transaction
The best reason to learn about Charging is to understand what a creator means when they mention it. Start by finding a creator whose work you genuinely want to return to. Watch a few videos, follow if you want more, and use optional support only when the official current offer is clear and feels right for you.

Frequently asked questions
Is Bilibili Charging the same as a donation?
Not exactly. Bilibili’s agreement describes Charging as a platform value-added service for supporting a particular creator. The form and current terms are set by the official platform and shown in the relevant creator panel.
Is Bilibili Charging the same as “one-click triple”?
No. “One-click triple” refers to Like, Coin, and Favorite as a community-recognition gesture. Charging is a separate, optional creator-support service.
Can international viewers use Bilibili Charging?
There is no single worldwide answer. Availability can depend on your account, creator, device, region, current platform display, payment channel, and content rights. Check the current official panel visible to your account; do not use a workaround if it is unavailable.
What kinds of Charging can a creator offer?
Bilibili’s current agreement describes custom Charging, monthly Charging, and single-video Charging. The exact offer, amount, benefits, and eligibility are shown on the current official platform page.
Does monthly Charging renew automatically?
Some continuous monthly or annual options can involve automatic renewal when a user actively selects such a plan. Read the current official confirmation and management information before choosing a recurring option.
Can I still support a creator if I do not pay?
Yes. Watching, liking, saving, following, and leaving a respectful comment are all valid ways to participate. Paid support is optional.
