A 3-Minute Bilibili Starter Path

You don’t need a strategy session to start enjoying Bilibili. You need three minutes and this page. Do each step in order — by the end you’ll have watched something enjoyable and saved your next step.

Minute 1: Open one Visual-first channel

Go to one of these profiles — all chosen because visuals carry the story:

1. Linksphotograph — cinematic journeys to Greenland, remote horizons and “the world’s loneliest house.” Language barely matters when the footage looks like this.
2. 绵羊料理 Mianyang — home cooking with wordplay and warmth, from historical imperial dishes to Yunnan wild mushrooms.
3. 幾加乘 Jijiaocheng — deadpan animated cat adventures, including a mouse-hunting cat driven by office KPI jokes.

Click through to the official channel, press play on any recent video. That’s it. If the danmaku comments distract you, look for the 弹 toggle in the player controls.

Minute 2: Learn two words

You will see these immediately:

Danmaku (弹幕) — the flying comments themselves, and the genre name. Now you know why they’re there: it’s communal watching, not clutter. Full story in our danmaku explainer.

666 — not a number with mystical meaning, just Chinese internet shorthand for “nice!” or “skilled!” When a chef flips a pan or an editor lands a perfect cut, the screen fills with 666s. More in the 666 entry.
